Interactive exhibits of the Fingerprints family of hexagonal cellular automata rules.
<br>Basic Fingerprints is a three state rule in which:<li>dead cells with no near neighbors remain dead,
otherwise<li>dead cells with 3, 4, or 5 neighbors give birth<li>
live cells with no near neighbors become dead<li>live cells with near neighbors become refractory.
<p>Most of the rules displayed here and in the
<a href="./hexagonal.html">Hexagonal Extension</a>
are taken directly from Collidoscope,
where they were first introduced. Collidoscope runs its rules in much larger screen-sized
universes at video refresh rates, making it easily an order of magnitude faster than
Modern Cellular Automata!<p>
